Tashkent celebrated May 9 – Victory Day

 From early morning in the city of Tashkent, festive festivities and solemn events were held in honor of the 75th anniversary of the victory over fascism.alt

Tens of thousands of people from all corners of the capital have rushed to public gardens, parks and avenues to listen to military songs, taste the dishes of the field kitchen and take a picture against the background of military equipment.

For the first time the main event of the celebration was held in the Botanical Garden of the capital. Here, against the background of rare representatives of the flora, dozens of samples of military equipment from the times of the Great Patriotic War were exhibited. Surprisingly, some of these military vehicles still function and have come here on their own. Military relics pleased not only children, but adults. Each of them lined up a queue of people who wanted to touch them or capture the weapons of victory.

A special impression was made on the youngest visitors. They were given the opportunity to visit altinside the tanks and self-propelled vehicles, hold the helm of a real combat aircraft.

Throughout the Botanical Garden military songs and music played by a live orchestra were heard. His musicians were dressed in the military uniform of that time.

According to the existing tradition, the festive day ended with a colorful fireworks. Exactly at nine oclock in the altTashkent time dozens of powder charges rushed into the air, coloring the sky of the capital with many bright colors. To see this unforgettable spectacle in all its glory, tens of thousands of residents and visitors of Tashkent gathered at the “Friendship of Peoples” square, where the best view of the pyrotechnic show was opened.

It was impossible not to notice how one of the main city sights was transformed, to which its original name was recently returned. In its center was dismantled in 2008, a monument to the family of Shamakhmudovs who adopted during the war years 1941-45 15 children of different nationalities who lost their parents and evacuated to Tashkent on May 1. This monument was transported from the outskirts of the city to the Friendship Park (former park Babur), where he took his rightful place. Accordingly, its name and subway station changed.
